Made up lives seeking

Favour from those we fear.

Made up lives to fool

And trick as we fool

And cheat ourselves alone.

Costly imitations to

Shroud broken sunsets.

We hide from ourselves

To cower outside doors.

Shunning joyous lives

Of self-acceptance,

We betray our souls

With ardent lies to

Stand and serve unseen.

Pleasing no one, we hide

Hearts of desolation.
